世界陸上　男子主将の村上「集中して結果を出す」＝世界陸上代表が結団式

今月２７日に開幕する陸上の世界選手権（韓国・テグ）を前に、女子短距離の福島千里（北海道ハイテクＡＣ）、男子やり投の村上幸史（スズキ浜松ＡＣ）ら日本代表選手が１２日、都内ホテルで行われた結団式に出席し、意気込みなどを述べた。

　日本選手団を率いる高野進監督は、今大会の代表について『戦えるメンバー』を選出したと話し、「戦略を持って戦う、つわもの集団、“ウォーリア―・アスリート”として韓国・テグに乗り込みたい」とコメント。また今大会の位置づけについては「ロンドン五輪とセットで考え、しっかり足場を固めて、ロンドンで戦う態勢を作る」と、来年に迫ったスポーツの祭典で結果を残すためのステップととらえている。

　今回の結団式では男女の主将が監督から指名され、男子は村上、女子はハードルの久保倉里美（新潟アルビレックスＲＣ）が任命された。村上は、「主将という立場を与えられたので、しっかりしたいと思う。自分の競技に集中して結果を出したい」と、２大会連続となるメダル獲得に意欲を示すと、女子主将の久保倉も「女子短距離を含め、若い選手が多いので、みんなで力を合わせて、ひとつの目標に向かって日本全体で頑張りたい」とチームとしての躍進を誓った。

　また今大会の活躍が期待される福島は、「いつもどおりマイペースでやれたらいいなと思う。一本でも多く走れるように、全力で戦いたい」とコメント。目標については「自己ベストを目指せれば……」と自身が持つ日本記録の更新も口にしたが、「目標は目標だけど、１本１本しっかり走ることが一番の目標」と、記録よりも最善を尽くすことに全力を注ぐと語った。
